My Philosophy + What To Expect

“Well, that was fun”

I want you to leave our shoot saying those exact words (or some variation of those words). Let’s be real…family photos can be super stressful. Picking out the perfect outfit for your family, hoping everyone smiles in at least one photo, a partner who may not love getting their photo taken. I get it! 

I want to capture your family just as they are. If you have a wild two year old then I want to capture them in their element! I have a wild two year old so I know all about them. Your kids do not need to be perfect. It is usually those imperfect moments that make for the best images. My style of shooting is capturing lots and lots of candid, natural moments. Yes, we will still do some of the formal posed shots because grandparents love that shit. These sessions do not run any specific length of time. I spend as much time with your family as I feel we need. Some family sessions are done in 30 minutes and others run over an hour. Once I feel as though we have captured what we need (or the kids have lost their minds) we call it a day!

The posed shots will be the first that we do and then comes the fun part. Even though we will be capturing lots of candids, I will also be giving you plenty of direction while we shoot. I like to call it posed candids. I may make you lay in the wet grass with your child. I may make you stand and stare at your spouse for an awkward amount of time. There will be fake laughing. There will be lots of walking. Most importantly though it will be fun. Just as you are, but in fancier than normal outfits maybe. These will be going on your wall after all! I want you to look amazing for your photos. All clients have access to my client closet, which has a variety of beautiful dresses to choose from. I am here to help if you need ideas on what to dress the family in!

Once your session is over you will receive some sneak peeks within 12-24 hours! You can then expect the full gallery within 3-4 weeks sent directly to your email. Gallery size varies with every session, but you can expect to receive a minimum of 50 digital images.
